The Two Futures

The Two Futures

Opening Hook

I think half of us look at the future and see endless possibilities.

The other half look at the future and see uncertainty.

One group says:

"What can I build?"

The other asks:

"What if everything falls apart?"

Neither group is wrong.

But they often end up in very different places.

The Realization

After my aunt passed away, I found myself thinking about time differently.

Not in a sad way.

In a truthful way.

One moment she was here.

The next moment she wasn't.

What remained was a body.

The person I loved was gone.

That experience reminded me that none of us are promised tomorrow.

And strangely enough, that realization didn't make me more afraid.

It made me more determined.

Calm Truth

The future is unknown for everyone.

The successful person doesn't know what's going to happen.

The struggling person doesn't know what's going to happen.

The difference is often what they do while they wait.

Some people spend their lives fearing what might happen.

Others spend their lives building what could happen.

The Shift

The future belongs to people who are willing to act before they have guarantees.

Write the book.

Plant the seed.

Apply for the position.

Start the business.

Take the class.

Learn the skill.

Not because success is guaranteed.

Because nothing is guaranteed.

The truth is simple:

Time is coming either way.

The question is whether you'll meet it with excuses or accomplishments.
