Sunday Journey Blog. The Chair They Left Empty
Sometimes people leave our lives without warning.
Not because of an argument.
Not because of distance.
Not because either of you planned it.
Life simply keeps moving.
One day you're laughing across the dinner table.
The next...
the chair is empty.
We spend so much of life believing there will be another birthday, another vacation, another phone call, another ordinary Tuesday.
Until there isn't.
Loss has a strange way of teaching what success never could.
It reminds us that time isn't promised.
Conversations aren't guaranteed.
Love should never be postponed.
Sometimes we're waiting for the perfect moment to forgive.
The perfect moment to apologize.
The perfect moment to visit.
The perfect moment to start living.
But life has never promised perfect timing.
Only today.
This doesn't mean we should live in fear.
It means we should live awake.
Call the person.
Take the trip.
Laugh a little louder.
Wear the good perfume.
Tell people you love them while they can still hear it.
Because one day, every one of us will leave a chair empty for someone else.
The question isn't whether that day will come.
The question is...
What memories will still be sitting in that chair?
The Mirror
If someone you love were gone tomorrow...
what conversation would you wish you had today?
I'll make the call.
I've been putting something off.
I'm grateful for today.
